Fight Stage

40 games 1/2

This section lines up one-on-one fights on a small stage: two fighters, a health bar along the top edge, whoever falls first loses. Only games controlled by a few large buttons are accepted; games demanding a ten-button combo or perfectly timed presses are refused, both because a touch screen cannot do them fairly and because they heat a weak machine up. Losing a match means tapping rematch within a second, with no dialog box asking whether you are sure. Old phones manage fine here because the stage is static, the characters carry few details, and not a single spectator gets drawn.

An older phone is enough

No download means no storage taken. Open the link, play, close it: the phone goes back to how it was, and the battery is not drained by a background process.

Four steps in one exchange

A good exchange has four parts, and the fourth matters most.

  1. Read the distanceWatch the feet, not the hands; feet show approach or retreat.
  2. Throw a safe moveOne safe move forces a reaction.
  3. Observe the reactionNote whether they retreat, block or punish; that is data for the next exchange.
  4. Step outRecover one step after attacking, even when the hit lands.
  5. Hit once, then retreatTwo hits in a row opens the door for the opponent.
  6. Keep distance after a hitAfter landing, step back instead of adding a hit.

In Fight Stage, players who recover after every attack take about half as many counter-hits.
